Nicholas Dison is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Ceramics and is in his final year. Dison’s work is very detailed and it is obviously demonstrated in each meticulous detail regarding each piece of art. I am especially astounded that he has such an abundant gallery to show off with the amount of detail in each piece. For week 11, our class had the opportunity to meet Caryn Aasness. She also gave us her instagram username at: levelyellowproblemchild in the Merlino Gallery. Aasness was very open about her art. The text on her fabric seems to be directed at the audience that does not take time to analyze situations in life prior to making sudden judgments or decisions. For week 10, I managed to stumble into the Dr. Maxine Merlino Gallery and came across the artist: Tony Nguyen. His exhibit featured items that pertained to the adolescence of the audience and was very captivating as it was a ‘magical journey through candyland’. I remember this toy machine that contained a little toy that is received and delivered at random. This week in Art, we met some amazingly-talented artists as usual. However, I’ve come across the exhibition called: “A Non-Degree Exhibition” by Daniel Bonilla-Vera and his friend.
