Nicholas Dison is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Ceramics and is in his final year. Dison’s work is very detailed and it is obviously demonstrated in each meticulous detail regarding each piece of art. I am especially astounded that he has such an abundant gallery to show off with the amount of detail in each piece.
In each picture, we notice that there are objects of different lengths in order to be created. It comes to no surprise that he’s pursuing a degree in ceramics as this entire gallery says it all. When I first walked into the gallery, I was wow’ed instantly because of the vast archive that Dison has to offer. Each piece of art went for a price of around $200 at least. Mr. Dison believes in the motto that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. In short, Mr. Dison thinks that what one person sees as valuable, another will always see it as trash. It is a theme that is very much related to the field of arts in general due to the broad definition of “pleasing to the eye.”
It is truly a momentous milestone if a person can make money off their passions, like we saw in this gallery this week. If Mr. Dison is as happy as his art shows, I hope to someday be like him in discovering his passion.
